SIMIODE Open House at Joint Mathematics Meetings, 8 January 2016

We are in the final stages of planning for our SIMIODE Open House at the Joint Mathematics Meetings on Friday evening, 8 January 2016, from 7 - 9 PM in the Willow Room of the Sheraton Seattle Hotel.  Room layout is done; T-shirts which can be won from registration drawing are printed and shipped to Seattle; host faculty assignments for discussion tables and simulation table have been made; terrific cloth banners have been produced and shipped - ready to hang; literature is ready; and now comes the good part. The food menu!

How does Dungeness Crab Cake with Tangerine essence sound? Or Wild mushrooms phyllo wrapped triangles with chives and asiago?  Or Baked Brie with raspberry jam and toasted almonds?  Or Hickory Smoked Duck with fruit and nuit crostini, dried cherry, and mache? Or how about Sweet plum tomato bruschetta with ciligini mozzarella, and micro basil?  Yummy!

All this comes with great conversations about teaching differential equations using modeling - overcoming issues/obstacles; examples and uses; and realizing opportunities for your students.  Also there will be a chance to conduct your own modeling simulation.

Come join us for our SIMIODE Open House at the Joint Mathematics Meetings on Friday evening, 8 January 2016, from 7 - 9 PM in the Willow Room of the Sheraton Seattle Hotel.  See you there.
